Breaking news. Today, Nov. 28th 2013. The BBC has declared the  Avoca Beach Picture Theatre as one of the ten most beautiful in the world.  This is an honor which will help not just this theatre, but all the charming Australian independents on this site. The cinema has also been judged best regional cinema in Australia in recent years. 

The theatre is located by the beautiful Avoca Beach on the Central Coast. The Theatre was constructed in 1951 by Norman Hunter and his brother Mervyn and has been a hub of entertainment for the past 60 years.  It continues in the same family, owned and operated by Norman & Beth Hunter.
